Morten Bonnet was born and raised in Denmark.
Growing up as a child of a danish doctor/scientist father and activist mother, Morten was always surrounded by Science, Culture, Arts and Crafts, and he was often traveling with his parents to Sweden and Spain. These early impressions distilled in him a long-lasting love for arts and beauty, life, travel and adventure.
And soon Morten started up drawing and painting. Making his public debut in 1984, when he gained admission at the prestigious K.E exhibitions hall of Copenhagen where he exhibited some his paintings, passing through the eye of a needle, he then entered the exclusive art world. Thereupon, inspired by pop art, he made several of his own series of pop art paintings, some of those where large-scale canvases that sold with great success.
Additionally, he began traveling and expanding his visions by exploring and experimenting with different mediums, art forms, techniques and styles. Creating various art projects, doing illustrations, taking portrait commissions and teaching art workshops, successfully establishing his versatility. Morten has also commissioned numerous public murals in restaurants, schools, youth clubs and business companies. And he has had exhibitions all over across Denmark, where many of his artwork are still hanging in private and corporate collections.
On a personal level, aspiring to reach Self and God realization, he became passionately involved with spirituality, gaining a deeper and greater understanding of himself, Ascended Mastery, life and Earth. Together with a friend he opened up a New age store called The Violet Flame, and began his eclectic spiritual and alternative practices such as shiatsu/acupressure, Crystal light Healing, massage therapy, natural therapy and performing ascension meditation workshops.
And simultaneously bringing his art to a whole new different level.
Life was not always easy or a bed of roses for Morten who has had his share of personal tragedies, emotional and painful experiences that touched him profoundly. And on top of that, pursuing his artistic and spiritual passions was often met with criticism and scrutiny from friends and family, who failed to accept his views, neither understand his enthusiasm for freedom of true self-expression through Art and New age nor his love and compassion for humanity.
Nevertheless, these challenges and hardships did not shake him out of his chosen path, in fact it has transformed him into the wonderful artist and radiant being he is today. And with that spirit, he continues to express himself freely.
Morten's work is heartfelt, adventurous and innovative, the colorful and expressive content of his artworks aims to expand the mind and consciousness of the viewer, by propelling us to recognize our own beautiful colors and love within. Also by helping us to feel the magnitudes of our brilliant soul, to transcend our multi-dimensional selves. Therefore encompassing our whole being. Morten's vision is to help and teach others to achieve their own mastery in life, inspiring others to be open to greater possibilities that lies in us, and to simply enjoy life.
